Longines Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Compagnie des Montres Longines Francillon S.A., or simply Longines (French pronunciation: [lɔ̃ʒin]), is a Swiss luxury watchmaker based in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. Founded by Auguste Agassiz in 1832, the company has been a subsidiary of the Swiss Swatch Group since 1983. Its winged hourglass logo, which was registered in 1889, is the oldest unchanged yet still active registered trademark.

In WWF's Enviromental rating and industry control 2018 report, which demands more transparency and responsibility in the watch and jewelry sector, Longines among other brands failed to provide sufficient information to be fully evaluated, "The remaining companies (Audemars Piguet, Breguet, Chopard, Longines, Omega, Patek Philippe, Rolex, Swatch and Tissot) chose not to complement the pre-assessment. Since most of these companies do not publish any detailed information about their sustainability efforts, a substantial part had to be classified as non-transparent. There is simply no publicly available data about the evaluated topics and criteria to be found for most of the companies, which is why an evaluation of actual sustainability performance is rather difficult. Nevertheless, the first and most important issue for the watch and jewellery industry is therefore the apparent lack of transparency and communication regarding material environmental concerns."

"Ordered a watch from the Longines website on 12/10 and did not hear a single thing from them despite ads all over the site advertising two day shipping. Thought my watch would arrive in 2-3 days. Here it is December 23 and no watch (and not due to get here until the 26th so no present for boyfriend). Throughout the entire process, I never heard a word from them regarding when I might get the watch and when I called them, they said "we're backed up at the processing facility but we'll get it out by the 23rd and will ship overnight so you get it." This, only after I called them to see what was going on and ONLY after they already had my $3500. Once you pay them, you may not see your watch for weeks. And no one cares about that and no one will even notify you. The customer service I get from Amazon and Target are way better than this; they realize people want to get things by Christmas and are honest about delivery times unlike Longines who has misrepresented everything from the moment they took my money."

"VHP Chronograph stopped after two months!!! Terrible quality, very disappointed...."

"Super happy with my watch, but dissatisfied with the customer service. I wrote an email in December 2018 regarding my warranty since the back side of the loop on my Longines Conquest strap loosened but never received an answer. I then brought it to a dealer, that told me that my warranty didn't cover (though it was less than two years old = the minimum mandatory duration of warranties here in Denmark) and that leather straps only have a durability of one year - though I have much cheaper and older watches with perfectly fine leather straps. Now I'm waiting to get a whole new strap which sets me back another 100$. Not very convenient for a student."
